I went through almost all of my photos from last year but ended up entering this one of my oldest that I took on one of the last days of December. I love the light and that smile that she has been giving me lately. It's her new smile for older girls. She will be 9 years old in a couple of months and she is suddenly very aware of how to pose. Sigh....hard to make it look natural but this one is OK though.

The girls had their dance recital on Sunday. So many talented children danced all afternoon. My oldest took Hip hop this year and they danced as soldiers. The little one took jazz and they danced to Abba's "Dancing Queen". So cute! They are both looking forward to next year's classes already.

Over the weekend I taught the oldest how to knit and the youngest learned how to crochet. They both thought it was great fun and worked really hard. I helped out a bit but they actually did really well and learned quickly. The oldest and I knitted sweaters for the stuffed animals and the little one crocheted lots and lots of headbands for her dolls.

The little one will be 6 years old in a couple of weeks. We had a little party on Saturday for her friends. And we survived!

A good time was had by all and the little one was so happy and pleased. Even her big sister thought it was a good party even though she is soooo much older!

When I think of autumn I always think of strong colors. This is one of my favorite autumn shots of my oldest. The leaves add a lot of strong colors to the shot but I think my girl adds just as much with her big, dark eyes and shiny hair.

The girls and I went for a little photowalk. The oldest has her own camera and has a good eye for a perfect shot. The little one is quite bummed that she hasn't got a camera of her own yet. She used mine every now and then during the walk and was sort of happy with that. We crossed our meadow to get to this beautiful old barn. We've been there many times but somehow I think it looks the most beautiful now in the autumn.

My little one on one of our trips this summer. We had spent the day at the pool and was going out for dinner in the evening. Beauty in the old! This china is several hundred years old. I just find it amazing that we can walk through an old home and still enjoy these beautiful things. Even more amazing that it's not broken considering the fact that once upon a time there were 11 children in that house.

"O" made no 2!!! Yeah, well done!!! And was featured at The Trendy Tree House.

This shot was taken by my 8-year-old "O". She has developed a love for photography and I love that we can share this passion. She has an eye for a good shot and I belive that she can become really, really good if she sticks to it. This particular shot was taken at the house in London where we stayed in April. She was totally amazed with all the beautiful petals and crawled around to get the perfect shot.
